With the season of Lent almost over and Easter Sunday coming in just a few short days I thought it was appropriate to speak on the topic of anticipation. It seems to be a reoccurring theme in my life this past month. As most of you know, Daniel is graduating in May and so he has been on the job hunt since late February. I am so proud of him for getting an early start on this whole process. He was offered a job in Virginia and had multiple interviews here in Nashville. Last week came down to the wire as the Virginia company needed an answer and he was waiting on two other companies in Nashville to give him an offer. We anticipated ALOT that week. We finally got the call Monday morning that the company he really wanted to work for had made him an offer! He accepted and will be starting work with Passport Health Solutions in early June.
Another area of anticipation that I have been dealing with is the anticipation of starting a family. We haven't had the best of luck since we started trying six months ago. I have been trying to be patient and let my body go through its natural processes after getting off BC in October, but almost six months later and still nothing. I decided to go to the doctor and get checked out. I had blood work done and was put on a couple of different medicines to help get my body back on its correct cycle. So all in all, again I anticipate good news by the end of April when I go back to see if the meds worked.
Lastly, with all the crazy events that April and May hold, including multiple large events at work that I have to help plan, Daniel's graduation and party that I have to plan, and the anticipation of starting our family, I need a vacation. That leads me to my final bit about anticipation....We are going to Mexico! Daniel booked a graduation vacation to the Mayan Riviera for us! So one more item on my list and something fun and amazing to look forward to this Spring. Please keep us in your prayers.

St. Patrick's Day Craftiness
So its that time of year again where everything is turning green...my favorite color! The weather is warming up, the flowers are starting to bloom and St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. I LOVE this holiday because its a time to celebrate being a red-head and my love of the color green. Well that's what the holiday means to me anyway. This year, Daniel and I are hosting a party at our house to celebrate with our friends, and to give me an excuse to get crafty again and show off my wears to my friends.
Last night I started by making a new recipe...Shepherds Pie. I got the recipe from Pinterest and both Daniel and I were pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. This may become one of our new favorite meals.

Basically, you brown hamburger, add frozen assorted veggies, some onion and garlic and season to taste. You add mashed potatoes to the top and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until the top is golden brown. Delicious comfort food!
After cleaning up from dinner I started thinking about how we could use up some of the "grape juice" bottles that we have collected over the past few months. I thought about another craft project I have been meaning to work on and thought I could incorporate Irish colors to make them part of the St. Patrick's Day party.
The bottles pictured here are beer bottles, but just imagine them bigger, and with yarn instead of twine. I made one bright orange bottle last night and added some button flowers for embellishments. I plan to do three more in brown, green, and tan colors. This project was pretty easy as well, just took some patience. I began by hot gluing the first part of the yarn to the bottom of the bottle all the way around once. From there it was just a matter of wrapping the yarn tightly around until it was completely covered. Then finding some buttons to match and layering them with hot glue to create a flower design. These will be cute flower vases for the table. I am using 4 different sized bottles instead of all one size like in the picture.
I look forward to creating more items for the party and sharing my results. I will post photos of the finished results soon.
